Introducing Mikfepris, an emergency contraceptive containing 10 mg of mifepristone. It is intended to help prevent pregnancy after unprotected sex or contraceptive failure when taken within 120 hours (5 days).
Clinical studies of 10 mg mifepristone used for emergency contraception have reported that approximately 85%–95% of expected pregnancies were prevented, with results varying across studies. Effectiveness may depend on how soon it is taken, the timing of ovulation, and whether additional unprotected sex occurs after taking the pill. Taking it as soon as possible is recommended.
Mikfepris offers a convenient, single-dose emergency contraceptive option. It does not guarantee prevention of pregnancy and does not protect against sexually transmitted infections.
